Advantage Cleveland: Tennis & Education
Providing Cleveland's youth with tennis, wellness, fitness, literacy and creative expression programs to promote hope, healthy living and productive futures.
AdvantageCLE offers a free eight-week camp each summer at Thurgood Marshall Recreation Center in Cleveland each weekday from 9:00 am-3:00 pm. Children receive breakfast and lunch and rotate through five rotations per day. The camp focuses on tennis, fitness, and wellness, as well as literacy, STEM, and creative expression. The video above is a prime example of all that our camp has to offer!
ACE After-School Program
ACE stands for Athletics, Creativity and Enrichment- all themes for our new after-school program. AdvantageCLE is at Mary B. Martin Elementary for a three-day per week after-school program and Daniel E. Morgan for two days.
Students receive tennis, poetry, STEM, literacy intervention and wellness instruction-- moving each child toward their potential on and off the court.
OUR AREAS OF FOCUS
Tennis offers individual development and team-building skills, strengthening a student’s self-confidence.
Literacy promotes active learning for students through themed workshops, crafts and creative projects that help develop communication skills.
The Wellness curriculum was designed to teach better nutrition and decision making for a healthier lifestyle. STEM introduces students to the engineering process.
Poetry feeds the need for creativity and freedom for students to express themselves. Students are encouraged to perform their work to promote public speaking skills.
Fitness classes address health, body image, and self-esteem by developing speed, agility, and strength.
